Profesionista con grado de Maestro en Ciencias con formación preferentemente en las áreas de las ciencias biológicas o químicas, o con Especialidad en las áreas de salud. Los aspirantes deberán poseer capacidad de comunicarse en forma oral y escrita en el idioma español y capacidad para comprender textos científicos y técnicos en el idioma inglés. Deberán mostrar convicción de dedicarse a la investigación científica, y capacidad de plantear preguntas de investigación y ofrecer posibles soluciones.



Los candidatos extranjeros deberán cumplir, además, con los siguientes requisitos:
a) Original del acta de nacimiento apostillada.
b) Originales de los certificados de Maestría, con un promedio general de calificaciones mínimo equivalente a 8 (ocho) en la escala mexicana. Si el certificado no indica el promedio, entregar una constancia oficial de promedio de la institución de procedencia.
La legalización de los documentos se lleva a cabo en la Embajada de México, en la Sección Consular de su país de origen. El apostillado, en el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de su país de origen.
Si están en idioma diferente al español, anexar el original de su traducción realizado por un perito oficial de traductor.
c) Si la lengua materna no es el español, deberá acreditar su dominio del idioma español mediante una constancia emitida por una institución, que el Comité Académico considere posee el nivel académico necesario. La constancia deberá presentarse en el momento de registro al primer semestre del DCB.
d) Acreditación de su grado ante la SEP.



 













El DCB es un programa orientado a la formación de investigadores capaces de realizar investigación científica de alta calidad, con el requerimiento de dedicación de tiempo completo de los alumnos. Los estudios se basan en el trabajo de investigación con un plan fundamentado en el sistema de tutoría, lo que ofrece a los estudiantes una sólida capacitación en investigación y una constante asesoría de expertos en el área de estudio. Es de carácter flexible pero con modalidad presencial, ya que el estudiante tiene que permanecer en su dependencia de adscripción (laboratorio o campo) para desarrollar su proyecto de investigación. Promueve la movilidad estudiantil y favorece las interrelaciones académicas, sin descuidar las actividades informativas necesarias para realizar investigación científica. Es un sistema de enseñanza que fomenta la participación y la autocrítica de todos los estudiantes mediante
la interacción continua entre ellos y los investigadores que funcionan como directores de tesis o tutores académicos, quienes se encuentran organizados en cuerpos académicos. La currícula del programa contempla 132 créditos, 120 de trabajo de investigación y 12 de actividades académicas (ver mapa curricular), que se cumplirán en ocho semestres. Para presentar el examen de grado, el alumno deberá haber aprobado su examen predoctoral, publicado un artículo científico como primer autor en una revista indizada y obtenido los votos aprobatorios de su tesis.

The entering student should have a Master's degree in the sciences, perferrably in the biological or chemical sciences, or with a specialty in the health sciences. The aspiring student should have the the capacity to communicate in both oral and written Spanish, as well as the capacity to understand scientific and technical texts written in English. The prospective student should show a strong commitment and dedication to scientific investigation, and the capacity to formulate research questions and propose possible solutions.




The student graduating from the DCB will be a professional with the following characteristics:
• A solid academic formation and state of the art knowledge of his/her line of investigation.
• The capacity to design and carry out original and cutting edge scientific investigation, as well as educate and train new professionals in research and education within his/her area of specialization.
• The ability to organize and defend the advances and results of his/her investigations in academic fora and professional scientific congresses, communicate his/her results orally as well as in writing, in specialized journals as well as in those aimed and non-professional audiences. The graduate will also have the ability to solicit and obtain funding for his/her research activities.
• The graduate will have the commitment to communicate his/her scientific knowledge for the benefit of society, as well as honesty and integrity in the evalulation of scientific articles and other works of investigation by his/her peers.
• Diploma of Master's degree or Medical Specialization
• Certificate of Master's degree or Medical Specialization, with a minimum grade point average of 8.0 (on a 1 – 10 point scale), or equivalent.
• The student should be integrated or looking to be integrated into a group of investigation. The thesis director should belong to the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores, or have an equivalent curriculum vitae.
• The student should present for an interview with the coordinator of the postgraduate program.
• The student should submit a letter of intent, in which he/she explains his/her motives for entering the postgraduate program, and in which the student agrees to dedicate him/herself full-time to the activities of the program, should he/she be accepted.
• The student should deliver a written proposal for a research project, approved by the thesis director. The student should also deliver a letter from the thesis director, in which he/she states his/her commitment to direct the student's research project, provide the necessary material support to carry it out, as well as to graduate the student within the time frame established in the study plan.
• The student's project must be approved by the Admission Committee.
• The student must pass the CENEVAL EXANI-III exam.
• The student must deliver the required documentation to “control escolar”
• The student must deliver 2 letters of recommendation, from investigators in the proposed field of study.
• The student must present proof of having taken the English reading and comprehension exam.
• The student must deliver the current curricula vitae of him/herself as well as his/her thesis director.
• The student must pay inscription fees.

The international candidates must also fulfill the following requirements:

• Present their original birth certificate, with apostille.
• Present their original Master's certificate, showing a grade point average of 8 or greater, according to the Mexican scale. If the certificates do not show a grade point average, it is necessary to present an original certificate from his/her university that shows the grade point average obtained by the student.
• The legalization of the student's documents will be carried out in the Mexican Embassy, in the Consular Section of his/her country of origin. The apostille will be obtained from Exterior Relations of his/her country of origin. If the documents are not written in the Spanish language, they must be translated by an official translator, and the translated version should be attached to the original.
• If the student's native language is not Spanish, proof of his/her dominance of the Spanish language should be in the form of a certificate given by an educational institution that the Academic Committee considers to have the necessary academic level. This certificate should be presented at the moment the student registers for the first semester of the doctoral program.
• Acredidation of the student's degree by the SEP.

The DCB is a program oriented to the formation of independent investigators capable of carrying out high-quality scientific investigation, and that has the requirement of full-time dedication of the faculty to its students. The curriculum is centered on the student's project of investigation, with a study plan founded on the mentor system, which offers the students a solid training in investigation and constant guidance from experts in the student's area of study. The program of study is flexible, but on-site, since the student needs to remain at the place (laboratory or in the field) at which he/she is carrying out the project of investigation. The study program promotes the mobility of the student, and favors academic interrelations, but without ignoring informational activities necessary in order to carry out scientific investigation. It is a system of teaching that promotes the participation and critical thinking of all students, by means of their continuous interaction with investigators that function as directors of thesis or academic tutors, which are organized into academic bodies. The curriculum of the program co prises132 credits, 120 of which are derived from the student's activities of investigation and 12 are academic activities (see curriculum outline, below); these credits are completed in a period of 8 semesters. In order to present the final exam, the student should have passed his/her predoctoral exam, published a scientific article as first author in a peer-reviewed indexed journal, and obtained approval of his/her thesis.
-Haber cursado y aprobado el 100 % de las actividades académicas y las materias de trabajo de investigación, cubriendo así los 132 créditos.
-Haber aprobado el examen predoctoral.
-Haber publicado, o tener la carta de aceptación de al menos un artículo científico que aborde objetivos de su trabajo de investigación relacionada con el tema de tesis en una revista indizada. El candidato a doctor deberá ser el primer autor. La publicación será un requisito para que el estudiante pueda solicitar jurado para el examen de grado.
-Elaborar una tesis de investigación.
-Constancia de acreditación de nivel intermedio del idioma inglés, emitida por instituciones que el comité académico considere poseen el nivel académico suficiente.
-Cumplir con los requisitos administrativos del Reglamento de Evaluación Académica de la UATx.
-Aprobar un examen de grado abierto al público, que consiste en la defensa oral de la tesis ante un jurado designado por el Comité Académico.
El egresado del DCB será un profesional con:
• Sólida formación académica y conocimientos en el estado del arte de su línea de investigación.
• Capacidad para diseñar y desarrollar trabajo de investigación científica, original y de frontera, así como para conducir la formación de recursos humanos en la investigación en el campo de su(s) fortaleza(s) y en la docencia.
• Habilidades para organizar y defender los avances y resultados de su investigación en foros académicos y reuniones científicas especializadas, realizar actividades de difusión oral y escrita en revistas científicas indexadas y en revistas de divulgación científica, y para gestionar recursos para la investigación.
• Compromiso para divulgar el conocimiento científico adquirido en beneficio de la sociedad y honestidad para evaluar artículos u otros productos derivados de la investigación de sus pares.

Dependiendo del área de fortaleza seleccionada por el estudiante, el egresado adquirirá las competencias académicas relacionadas (ver plan de estudios completo).

The candidate must dedicate him/herself full time to the program.
• The candidate must complete and pass all academic activities required by the program, as well as those established by the student's Advisory Committee. The grade scale will be 1 – 10, with 8 being the minimum passing grade.
• The candidate must obtain positive evaluations from the Advisory Committee of his/her investigation and academic activities. The candidate must be current in the required payments, as specified in the General Regulations of the Postgraduate Program in Ciences.
• The candidate must pass the predoctoral exam. In the event that the candidate does not pass the predoctoral exam at the first attempt, he/she can request a second exam at the end of the same semester; if the candidate again fails to pass the exam, he/she will be permanently dropped from the program.
• The candidate must present a certificate showing that he/she has presented results of his/her thesis project in the seminar series of the institution, on at least 2 occasions.
• Pass the predoctoral exam.
• Publish at least one scientific article in an indexed scientific journal, or present the letter of acceptance of an article to an indexed scientific journal. This article must be related to the student's thesis and that addresses the objectives of the student's project of investigation. The candidate must be the first author on this publication, which will be a pre-requisite for soliciting a committee for the thesis defence.
• Write a thesis of investigation.
• Present a certificate of acredidation for intermediate level English, from an institution that the Academic Committee
considers to have a sufficient academic level.
